Llandudno Junction Refurbishment Scheme
As part of our Railway Upgrade Plan, we will soon be working to repair and refurbish the station superstructure (bridge and canopies) at Llandudno Railway Station.
This is essential work to be undertaken as part of our commitment to maintain a safe and reliable railway.
What are the works involved?
Work involves erecting a scaffold access system to provide a safe working environment for work to continue primarily during the daytime; while the station remains fully operational. Daytime works involve; replacement of the bridge and canopy roofs, glazing and painting of all external surfaces.
There will also be an element of night time working, these works involve internal works within the station footbridge and refurbishment works below the canopies.
When will the work take place?
The work is scheduled to take place between the following dates 12th November 2018 and the 22nd April 2019, with key elements of the work detailed below:
Daytime works to continue throughout the full duration of the project.
Scaffolding works to be completed at night during November and December.
Work to renew the canopy sheeting and also below the canopies to refurbish the steel frame. We will also install new pest control netting which will be carried out during mid-week nights.
Safety is a key priority and for this reason a large amount of this work must be carried out while trains are not running. This means carrying out a lot of our improvements during the night and at weekends.
We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience this causes and I would like to assure you that our project team will make every effort to minimise any unnecessary noise while working in your area. Furthermore, those working on the project will be briefed on working both responsibly and respectfully in the local community.
