Conwy Valley Railway, Blooming Marvellous!

Take a trip on the Conwy Valley Railway and you will be struck, not just by the awe inspiring scenery, but also by the care and dedication lavished on the tiny, rural stations that dot the line.

In high summer this love is most evident in the stunning floral displays on show at the stations. Rainbow bright blooms and verdant borders are the order of the day at stations including Tal y Cafn, North Llanrwst, Betws y Coed, and Dolwyddelan and it’s all thanks to the dedicated people who care for them.

This team of passionate volunteers, also known as station adopters (in the case of Betws y Coed the wonderful people of the iconic Alpine Coffee Shop), work hard to ensure their stations are pleasant and memorable places to alight all year round.

The cascading hanging baskets and bountiful tubs and borders that adorn the platforms reflect each station’s personality – and that of their proud adopter – making every stop a delight for the senses.

Home to the likes of Bodnant and Plas Tan y Bwlch, North Wales is well-known for beautiful formal gardens. This year make the journey on the Conwy Valley Line instead and find out for yourself why it’s blooming marvellous!
